Hailie's 1st Recital

Hailie's been taking a dance class this year at school and they just had their end of year dance recital.  We were a little worried since every time we asked Hailie to show us something she'd learned in class all she would do is "shake the booty."  Her class did a tap routine to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.  She was most excited to wear her costume and stand on a big stage at her Daddy's old school.  The video is from the dress rehearsal so the quality isn't very good but you get the picture.  Link to Video We were very proud of our little girl.

4 Months

Kendall is 4 months.  We can't believe how quickly she's growing up. She loves to smile and laugh and has learned to roll over.  (We are not ready for her to be mobile.)  She is definitely a Daddy's girl.  Nobody gets bigger smiles and giggles than Daddy.  Her current stats are 11.6 lbs (9th percentile), 23.9 in (38th percentile) and 15 inch head (1st percentile).  So she is very petite.  Her 4 month stats were almost identical to Hailie's 2 month stats.

Race for the Cure

Again this year we participated in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure.  It was a beautiful day and as always we had a nice stroll through downtown Salt Lake for a good cause.  Thanks to everyone who donated to our team.

A few of us went through the "Get Pinked" section. Basically you walked down a set area and people threw pink cornstarch at you.  It was alright.

Hailie was quite trooper.  She walked majority of time.  By the end she was extremely tired.

Hailie Love

The other night Hailie was supposed to be cleaning her room before bed and I could hear her saying something over and over so I went in to check it out.  This is what I heard.

For the record, there was no prompting of the Mommy love.  Daddy had to encourage his.

Our California Adventure

A couple weeks ago we braved a road trip to California for 2 weeks.  We started in San Diego and worked our way north to Danville with a 4 day stop at Disneyland.  It was quite the adventure.  Part way through the trip Kendall decided she hated the car seat which made for some rough days in the car. 14 days and 2,200 miles later we all survived and have some great memories.

Starting the trip
We spent a day at Seaworld.  They had a 1 month old baby orca on display.  He was so cute.

Kendall has started smiling and laughing.
Then we spent a day at the beach in La Jolla.  We had a little incident with a seagull while eating our lunch.  It was little windy so I was holding Hailie's sandwich while she took bites.  As I was passing it over to her a seagull swooped in between us and took the sandwich out of my hand.  It took a second for her to realize what had happened and then she melted down.  She spent the rest of the afternoon hiding her food in her hands and taking little nibbles when the seagull weren't looking.  The rest of the trip we spent on the look out for seagulls.
Hailie was playing model on the beach.

Next up was 4 long days at Disneyland & California Adventure. We decided to do 4 days because we thought we would only do half days and maybe go back and forth between the parks and the condo.  We were wrong.  We were there when the parks opened and usually didn't leave until after 8.  They were long days but a lot of fun.  Hailie went non-stop.  She was ready to go from the time she got up in the morning until she fell asleep in the car pulling out of the park.  I'll post some pictures here but there are too many so here's a link to the rest.  Disneyland Album

Day 1 - California Adventure

Day 2 - Disneyland
The main reason for this Disneyland trip was as a reward for Hailie when she was potty trained.  It took us over a year to make good on that promise so we threw in a trip to the Bibiddi Bobiddi Boutique.  Hailie was transformed into a punk rock princess Ariel.

  Day 3 - California Adventure
Hailie wore her Ariel dress everyday

Day 4 - Disneyland

She had to wear her Ariel dress to meet Ariel.

After Disneyland, we started up the coast.  We made a couple little stops along the way in Pismo Beach, Monterrey and Santa Cruz.  We had planned to do the trip in just a day but after Kendall screaming for a couple hours and Hailie getting car sick we decided to spend the night in Monterrey.
Quick swim at the hotel before heading out
Pismo Beach - It was really chilly.  We didn't stay long.

 Santa Cruz Boardwalk
Hailie loves roller coasters now.  According to her, everyone has to scream on them.

Last stop was Danville.  We spent a couple days just decompressing at Grandma's house.

We had a great trip but I don't think we'll be doing that again anytime soon.
