Sledding

We've been wanting to take Hailie sledding for awhile but we either had no snow or were working.  We finally made time last week and it was well worth it.  Hailie loved it.  She has no fear.  We started out small but worked our way to the big hill.  Next time we might try sending her by herself.

Who's afraid of Santa...

HAILIE.  She got so excited when she saw Santa that we decided to give it try. Fortunately we only waited 20 minutes and were next to last cause she wanted nothing to do with Santa. You can see in the picture with her Daddy and Aunt Kari she didn't even want her arm to touch him. We realized after all she really wanted was the candy canes he was giving the kids.

Hailie's 1st Christmas Program

Hailie had her 1st Christmas program.  Her class rang bells to Jingle Bells.  She did a great job.

Thanksgiving

We headed to So Cal this year for Thanksgiving. We were hoping to get away to warmer weather. Unfortunately they were having the coldest weather in 56 years. Just our luck. But we managed to have a good time anyway.

We went to the zoo (again).  We've definitely gotten our money's worth from that membership. Hailie's been so many times, she knows exactly where to go.

New Adventures

While we were in Hawaii, pub #3 opened in Taylorsville. The place looks great and has been doing really well! WooHoo!

With the opening of the 3rd pub and 2 more potentially locations in the works we had to make a hard decision. After 12 years of working at Ruby Tuesday, Trevor said goodbye. It was a very scary decision but we decided it was best for our family. The 80 hr work weeks were getting old and we really missed having him home. So Trevor is now officially self-employed and were off on a new adventure.

'Bout Time Gateway, coming soon!

Aloha Hawaii

Last month we got to spend a wonderful 10 days in Hawaii. Weather was beautiful, we had great company and got to do some much needed relaxing.
Before we headed to paradise, we made a stop in Danville to visit Grandma Pat. We don't make it there nearly as often as we would like. We had a great visit and hope to come back soon. Thanks for everything Grandma. We love you!

Hailie was introduced to her Great Grandpa Mac. She would have loved him!

Off to paradise. We did most of the standard tourist stuff. Saw lots of beautiful scenery but the best by far was the Na Pali Coast raft tour. This side of the island is only accessible by boat. We saw sea turtles, a pod of bottlenose dolphins and a very large pod of spinner dolphins. The spinner dolphins were so close you could reach out and touch them. With the small raft we were able to go into sea caves and then land on a beach for a picnic and snorkeling. The ride back was extremely rough. We were all sore the next day. Such an amazing adventure.

After a week in Kauai, we headed to Honolulu for a whirlwind 24 hours. We tried to cram in as much sightseeing as possible. We saw majority of the island (a lot in dark) and hit the 2 major hot spots. Pearl Harbor and Polynesian Culture Center. Both excellent and highly recommend.

It was a fabulous trip. I think we're all ready to go back. Enjoy the pictures.

Happy Halloween!

Here are a couple pictures from the pumpkin patch.
She loved riding in the wheelbarrow.

The perfect pumpkin

Hailie is a punk rocker this year. Here she is showing off her new cheesy smile.

She's got a pink Mohawk, black nails and tattoos all over.

Hailie's 1st Pedicure

In preparation for our trip to Hawaii this week we all got pedicures including Hailie. I thought they would just throw a coat of paint on and call it good but they actually buffed, filed and then decorated!! She has hot pink toes with black polka dots (even the baby toe has polka dots). So cute!

Yes, those are spiders. Halloween is right around the corner.

Big News!

Pub #2 is now open. Over the weekend 'Bout Time Old Mill opened. It's been a busy couple weeks for Trevor and we've sure missed having him home but check out this place...

Opening day went pretty well. Mostly family and friends but they did get some walk in customers. Not bad for no advertising. Coming soon, 'Bout Time Taylorsville!

Catchin' Up

We're a little behind on some posts. It's been a busy September. So here goes...

A couple weeks ago we went to Hogle Zoo. Hailie's been to the zoo quite a few times now but this was the 1st time she actually seemed into the animals. She especially liked the giraffes.

Here's Hailie showing how tall the giraffe's are.

Riding the carousel. She loves the carousel!

Petting the lion cub. She was really unsure of the statue at first. It took some coaxing to get this picture.

As you can see, she doesn't hold still even if Mommy wants a cute picture.
Posing with Grandma on the train.

Next up was a trip to St. George. We took a much needed long weekend break. It was a very nice relaxing weekend. We did some swimming, shopping and soaking up the rays. Kate's parents joined us. It was a great weekend!

Riding on Daddy's back
Such a little grown up.

Yes! She has hair. She even got her 1st haircut from her Nana on the trip. Just a trim but what a difference it makes.

Love this picture. Who loves Daddy!

Next, Octoberfest at Snowbird. It's a yearly tradition for us. It always makes for a great afternoon. Good music, good food and of course, good beer or in Hailie's case, juice.

She's always so happy.

Here are a couple more random photos.

We tried to teach Hailie how to eat with a spoon and here are the results...
Taking a nap with Great Grandpa. Precious moments.
Daddy's favorite good luck charm
Supporting Uncle Spence. Go Westlake #3!

Kind of a long post but wanted to get everyone caught up on the happenings for the Browns.

Fire

Here are a couple of pics of the Herriman fire from our house. We had a pretty stressful Sunday night but luckily the wind turned about 4 am so we didn't have to evacuate. It's only 20% contained as of today.

12:30 AM-Taken from Masterbedroom

Between 1-2 AM the fire started to drop below where we could see. That's when it got a little more nerve-wracking.

The view today.

The mountains are all black. The fire is still burning but it's in an area we can't see from the house. The lower mountain is the one that was on fire in the pics above. When we got home Sunday afternoon (around 6:30) the fire was barely on the ridge of the larger mountain. We were having winds around 50mph and the fire just took off. Amazingly only 4 houses were destroyed. Firefighters are amazing!
