October Update

We're way behind on the updates so here are some pictures from October.

1st up - Pumpkin picking

Next Stop - Boo at the Zoo.  Hailie was Alice in Wonderland this year.  Nemo in the 1st picture is her friend Chloe.

Next up - Pumpkin carving.  It took some coaxing but Hailie finally got into the pumpkin guts and helped clean the pumpkins.  Hailie and I made the Cinderella coach and Trevor carved Jasmine.

And lastly, Halloween.  Our little Alice with her white rabbit.

Hailie Turns 3!

We can't believe it but our little princess turned 3! Where has the time gone?
The Birthday Girl
We celebrated by having a fun family party with her Cousin Mia and her close friend, Chloe.  The theme of the party was Tinker Bell and the Disney Fairies.  There were fairy decorations, fairy plates and napkins, fairy party favors, and of course, a fairy waterfall birthday cake!  The little girls even got fairy wings to wear while they played during the party.

As usual, she was very blessed (spoiled) in the gifts she received.

The Loot!
The weather looked threatening all evening, but really the only rain was the ash from a nearby wild fire raining down on the fun.  We all enjoyed a wonderful evening together.
End of a fun day

In case you haven't heard...

This is my excuse for being too lazy to keep up the blog.  One of these days I'll find the time to start posting regularly again.

It's been awhile...

We've been slacking on the posts so I'll do a quick catch up.

First up, we took a trip out to Snowville and Hailie got to get up close with some calf's and pigs.  It was freezing but Hailie didn't want to go inside.

Next was Easter and it was a busy weekend.  We went to the Herriman Easter egg hunt Saturday morning and then had a party in the afternoon.  Hailie got way more candy the she needed but she had a lot of fun.

The Easter Bunny brought Hailie her own camera. By the time we made it to brunch, she had already taken 150 pictures (most of them were of the back of the seat).

This last weekend we did the Susan  G Komen Race for the Cure.  As always it was a lot of fun for a great cause.

Happy Easter!

Hailie went to see the Easter bunny over the weekend!  She was very excited and ran right up to the bunny to hug her.  Yes, this one was a girl bunny but if you ask Hailie it was a boy.  According to her, the Easter Bunny is a boy bunny and he only eats carrots.  Don't try to correct her.

Princess Tea Party at Hogle Zoo

Last weekend, Hogle Zoo held a princess tea party event.  Hailie picked out a Cinderella dress to wear on the special day.  At the zoo, they had set up a special room for the event and had a real princess there for her to meet.  Princess Amaria was very nice and let Hailie sit on her lap.  They had little sandwiches and cakes for the princesses to eat and Hailie got to make a special princess bracelet.  Afterward, Princess Amaria read a story and taught the little princesses a song.  Afterwards, the zoo staff brought out a ferret and kookaburra to play with.  It was a very fun day and Hailie loved being a princess.

Snow Angels

We've had a very weak winter.  Only a couple days of "good play outside" snow.  So we have take advantage of the little bit we've gotten.  This is Hailie laying on the patio where there was just enough snow to make snow angels.  She was in heaven!

It's not Christmas no more

Hailie's been asking if it's Christmas time. So we have to tell her "No, Christmas is over you'll have to wait until next year."  Then she says "oh, it's not Christmas no more" with a sad little face.  She says the cutest things.

Speaking of Christmas, we had such a great Christmas this year. It's no wonder she wants it to be Christmas all the time.  This year we went to California.  Northern instead of Southern this time.  It's been a long time since we spent more than a night or two in Danville so we had lots things we wanted to done/see.

1st up was Christmas.  Hailie was spoiled beyond spoiled again.  She really got the whole Santa thing this year so we had to put out cookies and milk. It was really fun to see her come out Christmas morning and see want Santa brought.  She was very excited and went into a bit of an overload from all the presents.
Santa must have thought she was really good this year.
After Christmas was over we did all the tourist things. 1st stop was Pier 39. It was typical San Francisco weather. Fog, fog and more fog but at least it wasn't too cold. The fog finally burned off about 4 but was back in by 6. We still had a nice day. Walked all over Pier 39 where Nana let Hailie pick an animal to stuff. She picked a koala which she named Boala. Then we walked up to Ghiradelli Square. The line was outrageous so we turned around and walked back to the pier.

The next day Trevor, Hailie and I took a drive up to Napa. We didn't realize it was only an hour way so we went up for the afternoon. Not much to do with a 2 year old but we had a really nice lunch and then did the loop drive around the winery's. We even had time to do a quick wine tasting at the Robert Mondavi winery. The whole drive we told Hailie that we were going to visit a castle (Castello Di Amorosa winery). Unfortunately by time we got there it was dark so she didn't get to see very much. She told us the princesses where all sleeping.

Next up was the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. This is the best aquarium. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. It's not very big but they have a lot to see and do. The jellyfish and open sea exhibits have always been my favorite but they've added a new exhibit about seahorses which was amazing. After the aquarium we had lunch on the water where Tevor finally got to have his fresh seafood.

We had a really nice trip and it was great to spend time with family and friends we haven't see for a while.  Thanks Grandma Pat for letting us destroy your house for a week.  Thanks Mom and Dad for spoiling Hailie rotten and spending the week with us.  We love you all!

Here's a little slide show of all the fun we had before Christmas and while we were in California.
