Introducing Kendall

Kendall Macklin Brown arrived January 21st at 7:58 am.  She was 7 lbs 5 oz and 19 in.  She is so small most of the newborn clothes we have doesn't fit.  We've had to get some preemie outfits. She was only 6 oz and 2 in smaller than Hailie but that little amount makes a big difference.  She is almost identical to Hailie except the lungs. Kendall has a serious set of lungs on her and when she is mad she lets you know.  Luckily she is a great baby and we don't have to hear that side very often. Hailie has been an amazing big sister.  She loves helping take care of Kendall.  Even poopy diapers haven't scared her off.

We've had a great 1st week.  Here are some pictures.

Making of Pixie Hollow (aka Hailie's New Room)

For Christmas this year we gave Hailie a new bedroom.  We decided to re-use Hailie's room for the baby and give her a "big girl" room.  After a lot of changing her mind she finally settled on a Tinkerbell room.  A couple weeks before Christmas we told her there was an accident in her playroom and she couldn't enter until we could get it cleaned up.  She knew we talked about doing a special room for her but she didn't know we were doing it for Christmas.

Her Daddy drew up a scene of Pixie Hollow on 1/2 the room.  We were able to get majority of the painting done in a weekend with the help of her Papa and Aunt Kari. (Hailie and Mommy had a couple long days of Christmas shopping to keep her out of the house.)  Next came some late nights trying to putting up the decorations and build furniture but it was all worth it when she opened the door on Christmas morning.

Her Daddy did an awesome job creating Pixie Hollow and we couldn't have done it without the help of Papa and Aunt Kari.  Hailie loves her room!  We heard about it nonstop the 1st week and every once in awhile she still pulls out the "I love my room. Thanks Mommy and Daddy."

Yes, that is a pink TV.  It had to match.

Family Pictures

Since Spencer is leaving for a mission the end of January we thought it would be good idea to update the Brown family picture.  Pictures turned out pretty good and made a great Christmas present.

Here some other fun pictures we took while we were there.

Love these.  I've been wanting to do these but just haven't had the time (or energy).

December

December is always full of Christmas fun.  Since we were spending Christmas at home this year, we decided to get a real Christmas tree.  Despite the freezing cold weather, we had a lot of fun picking out the perfect tree.

And of course we had a lot of fun decorating the tree.

We woke up one morning to a deer in our yard.  It was very friendly and tried to follow Hailie into the house at one point.  Good thing it didn't make it inside since Buca was waiting to play.

For the 2nd year, we went out to the Dickens Festival so Hailie could see the real Father Christmas.  He really is the best Santa out there.

Let the festivities begin.  Here's the tree right after Santa stopped by.  I think someone was very good this year.

Here's Hailie showing off her Periwinkle dress.  (In case you aren't up on your Disney fairies, Periwinkle is Tinkerbell's sister)  This is what Hailie asked Santa for.

The big gift from Mommy and Daddy this year was a new bedroom.  It turned out so good, it's getting post of it's own.  Stay tuned.

November Update

November started out cold.  We had our 1st snow in early November.  Hailie was ecstatic.  Unlike her parents, she loves the snow! She was very excited to get a shovel so she could help her Daddy shovel snow.  Daddy can't wait until she's old enough to do it on her own.

For Thanksgiving this year we headed to Cali.  We spent the 1st part of the week in San Diego and the 2nd part in Danville.  Our main stop this trip was Seaworld.  We spent 2 fun filled days.  All Hailie wanted was to be splashed by a whale.  She sat in the splash zone but it wasn't until the very last splash that she actually got wet.  She was very happy.
